PlyoDyne provides a mechanically defined environment in which equipment settings and task instructions can be documented deliberately. Research must determine what these conditions mean for movement, performance, learning or clinical outcomes.

01 — WHAT CAN BE DOCUMENTED

Define the equipment.
Define the task.

A reproducible description requires both the equipment state and the instruction given to the participant.

INSTALLATION

Record PRO ONE or PRO WALL and the relevant installation conditions.

SHAFT-TILT STATE

Document the vertical ring position and whether shaft tilt is free, range-limited or supported.

SUPPORT-HANDLE POSITION

Record the vertical position of the support-handle assembly and how it is used in the task.

CONFIGURATION

Record the S or M configuration, the exercise shaft and training handle used, and the handle position along the shaft.

ROTATION

The keyed handle cannot rotate independently; handle and shaft rotate together through the bearing.

ADDED MASS

Record each fitted weight and its position. The standard set totals 4.975 kg, with combinations beginning at 25 g.

TASK DIRECTION

Define the intended movement direction, starting position, repetitions and stopping criteria.

USER-CREATED SPEED

Speed is produced by the participant and should be instructed, measured or both.

OUTCOME MEASURES

Select independent measures that match the hypothesis; equipment settings are not outcomes.

    Define the research question

    Specify the population, setting, comparator, hypothesis and primary outcome before selecting the equipment state.

    Specify equipment and task

    Document installation, shaft-tilt state, shaft/handle configuration and handle position, added weights, task direction, speed instruction, repetitions and stopping criteria.

    Choose independent measures

    Separate feasibility and usability from movement behaviour, performance, learning and clinical outcomes.

  4. 04

    Use an appropriate study design

    Define comparators, familiarisation, allocation, measurement timing and analysis according to the question and study stage.

  5. 05

    Report transparently

    Describe the protocol, equipment state, task, deviations, adverse events and limitations so results can be interpreted and repeated.
